We understand the importance placed on decisions made during the design and vendor selection process when entering into a new project. So in this months newsletter we would like to discuss the different Pro's & Con's associated with concrete wall selections. We have based our findings from several sources of industry feedback, including information gathered from our own newsletter surveys.

Above Ground Only- Great Insulating value	Termites (some manufacturers)
Great Strength	Concrete more expensive - special mix to fill forms
Lower Utility Bills	Limited to Straight walls & 90° corners (some manufacturers)
	Some municipalities will not pass inspections below grade
PRE-CAST Walls
5,000 psi wall	No changes on job
Does not require waterproofing	No solid foundation
Concrete savings - No Footing	10' foot height limitation
One side stripped with furring - ready for sheetrock	Cannot tie anything to walls (retaining walls, etc.) - settle differently
No Pump Truck expense	Corners are mitered and caulk filled
Brick ties above ledge from factory	Crane & Freight charges
Factory Curing Conditions	Don't waterproof - No separate waterproofing warranty
	Unproven product - only extensively used in last 2-3 years
